Uganda National Writing Competition
We have joined hands with the Ministry of Education to start work on a National Writing Competition. Children across the country in P.4, P.5 and P.6 will submit their stories and and compete against their peers in their respective classes across the country.
The best 3 stories in each region (one from each class), will be invited to Kampala for National Awards Ceremony. Their stories will be published as e-books on the MIXAKIDS platform. The top five stories will be illustrated and published in hardcopy as an anthology.
The stories should not exceed 700 words, and should include some illustrations. All stories should be submitted through the teachers to local representatives of enjuba Spelling Bee or Peace Corps or World Vision. All submissions should be clearly marked with author’s name, age, class level, school, district, and region. Write this information clearly on each page of each story and in PENCIL on the BACK of each illustration, preferably near the bottom. Staple together all pages of each pupil’s story.
All submissions should be made by the August 30, 2017.
This year’s theme: Climate Change.
